Attempt Robbery

REPORTED OFFENSE: As the victim, a street vendor, was selling tacos to customers on the corner, a male suspect approached and demanded money in exchange for food stamps. When the victim refused to comply the suspect simulated a handgun in his jacket pocket and threatened the victim. Several of the victim’s customers were nearby and upon overhearing the suspect’s threats, stated they were going to call the police. The suspect then entered a nearby silver sedan and fled southbound out of view.

DATE & TIME OF OCCURRENCE: March 13, 2016 at approximately 10:15 PM       

LOCATION: North/West corner 36th Place and Vermont Avenue (off campus)

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION (provided by victim):
Suspect # 1: Male, Black, 35-40, brown hair, brown eyes, 6’, 200 lbs., wearing a black baseball cap, tan jacket, blue shirt, and dark colored pants

SUSPECT VEHICLE:   Silver or Gray sedan, no further description
