Annual Security Report

The Clery Act requires colleges and universities to disclose policy statements and crime statistics for incidents which occur on four defined areas: on-campus, in on-campus housing, on unobstructed public areas immediately adjacent to the campus and on non-campus properties owned and or controlled by the institution. This information is published in the Annual Security Report on or before October 1st annually for the preceding three years. The annual report is written in a Portable Document Format (pdf) and can be viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Acrobat Reader is free and can be downloaded.

Previous Reports

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) maintains records of its Annual Security Report for the preceding seven years in its archives. If you would like access to the Annual Security Report for the past 7 years, please contact DPS Records at DPSRecords@dps.usc.edu. Paper copies of the Annual Security Report will be made available upon request.

Note: Clery geography differs from DPS’s patrol boundaries, which include a larger area. If you wish to track crime data for the areas surrounding campus that are not owned by the university, the Los Angeles Police Department offers crime data and neighborhood maps for public record.
