UPC Patrol Area
DPS patrols the area surrounding USC’s University Park Campus (on the map in red) 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
HSC Patrol Area
At the Health Sciences Campus, DPS maintains two distinct boundaries:
- Red: 24-hour patrol zone
- Blue: A larger zone where DPS responds to any calls for assistance, 24 hours a day.
Patrol Area Versus Clery Geography
DPS’s patrol area differs from Clery geography. DPS patrols 2.5 square miles around the University Park Campus and 1 square mile around the Health Sciences Campus. DPS monitors this larger geographic area to help keep our communities safe. Clery geography is used specifically for federal crime reporting and only includes USC-owned property and designated adjacent property and city streets.
