To: USC Students, Faculty, and Staff,
As we approach the end of the academic year, we would like to remind our campus community about staying safe:
- If you find yourself staying late on campus to study for finals, utilize Campus Cruiser or DPS to get home. (http://transnet.usc.edu/index.php/campus-cruiser-program/)
- Follow USC safety tips and be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. (https://safety.usc.edu/tips/)
- Rideshare safety—always verify your driver and car. When using rideshare services such as Lyft or Uber, make sure the driver’s photo, license plate number, and vehicle description match. If using the Lyft app, select the “Share Your ETA” function and your friends can follow your trip in real-time. Never take a ride you did not request or get into a car that doesn’t match the details provided. (https://transnet.usc.edu/index.php/campus-cruiser-program/how-to-use-lyft/)
- Stay cyber safe—secure your passwords, protect your personal data, and be wary of current phone and email scams. (https://dps.usc.edu/be-aware-of-scams/)
- And when getting ready to move out for the summer, follow some quick steps you can take to avoid theft or damage and make the whole process easier. (https://dps.usc.edu/safety-tips/moving-out/)
