Community Safety Advisory: sexual assault

We are providing this information because we were notified by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) of an incident that affects the safety of the USC community.

REPORTED OFFENSE: 

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) received a report of a rape at a private residence off campus at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Sept. 6, 2020.

The reporting person attended a party with known acquaintances in the 600 block of 28th Street, where she met the suspect. The suspect offered to walk her home. When they arrived at her home, the suspect made sexual advances, and the victim told him no and asked him to leave. The suspect then sexually assaulted the victim. The reporting party provided a description of the suspect to LAPD, and they are actively investigating the report.
