Robbery/Hate Crime

Incident description: The suspect approached two students as they were exiting the restaurant and made a comment regarding one of the student’s sexual orientation. The suspect then grabbed the student’s necklace and pulled it from their neck. The suspect approached the second student and attempted to grab their cellphone. The suspect then slapped the student before walking away.

Time & date of incident: Approximately 11 p.m. on May 7, 2021

Location: Off campus at 2414 Vermont Ave (rear parking lot of La Barca’s Restaurant)

Suspect description: A male wearing a black hat, white t-shirt, beige pants, and black shoes

Suspect vehicle: No vehicle seen.
